Brain
Durable memory for coding agents that outlives the session, as Markdown you can read.
Every entry is a file with frontmatter: a fact, a decision with its reason, an incident, or a note. The whole thing is diffable and portable, so the memory belongs to the project rather than to whichever assistant happened to be running. The CLI adds, searches, lists, updates and reindexes; an HTTP API and a visualiser sit on top for anything that prefers to look.
The rules are the part worth copying. Search before you invent, update before you duplicate, record the reason and not just the result, note where a secret lives but never the secret itself. This workspace runs on it, and the starter kit is the tooling with an empty entries folder so your memory is yours.
- Four entry types - knowledge, memory, decision, note - each with a scope and tags.
- CLI for add, search, list, get, update, delete and reindex, plus an HTTP API and a visualiser.
- House rules that keep entries findable, truthful and free of secrets.
- Plain files and no database: it works in git, in an editor, and in an agent that reads folders.
